I have the hardest time finding the right foundation shade. Its either to light or too dark. Another issue is that my face is darker than my neck. Any ideas? How do you know what foundation color to pick?
Arbonne has a new line of cosmetics just for young individuals that are absolutely awesome. This make up is so cool and it's all water based with botanical oils and natural colors. Stays on forever, doesn't change colors and is good for you and your skin. go to their regular website www.arbonne.com or the new site www.fyiarbonne.com.. BTY foundation should be sampled on your jawline!!How do you know what foundation color to pick?
i would pick a few shades either at the cosmetic counter or at your local drug store, you can try putting a dab on a clean jaw line, allowing it to dry and go to an area of natural light to see what is working. It is tricky! Natural light shows the true color as where some store lights can be very decieving. You can also ask for samples at a department store- they are usually very happy to help you find your shade and you get a chance to try them out without wasting money on a bad color.
Hi, I use the new mineral foundation Bella Rose by Serious Skin Care sold on HSN. I have a light complexion and the light shade just gives my skin the right natural color. The idea is to find a shade that just covers your flaws and doesn't make you look made up. Since your face is darker than your neck you may want to buy two shades of makeup or you can just add a little blush or bronzer to your neck to blend it all in. You just have to keep experimenting to see what works for you. Every gal is different but I would stick with one of the new mineral foundations because they are better for your skin. Good luck !!
I go to the sample section and put a dab on my hand, the top part and see how well it blends and looks. I learned this from a Mary Kay sales girl I knew. It is hard to find the right shade since their are so many.
there is a new kind of foundation type of lotion that changes to the same color of your skin tone.... its either loreal, almay, or covergirl.... but you can find it in any walgreens or drugstore
put a little swab on your jawline. then you can tell if it blends in okay.
hmmm... for foundation I wouldn't spend to much money on it so I would check out walmart it has some shades you can try . If you have sensitive skin i would check out Dillard's they will let you try out some samples.
You should go to a make up stand like MAC, Dior, Stella,
and have them match you up. Let them know how you want it because it is bad when you see some one with cover up and you can totally tell the line where make up ends and skin begins......
nope.Sorry!
i've had the best luck going to the makeup counter at boston store and macys. i know how hard it can be. ive been to places that didnt have anything in my shade, im african american and i've had a hard time with maybelline and other products being too orange or ashy.
Hi!
I don't know that much about makeup, but I think I read in a magazine once that you should use about the same shade as your skin tone. You may also want to try using a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation. It moisturizes and gives you a sun-kissed tint! Good luck!
You have a tough problem. You usually want to avoid having a color line between your face and neck but if your face is darker I would say to go with the darker shade. People will see your face first and if too light the foundation will show. You want to look natural. Put a little of the darker foundation on your neck and blend. Buy at a buy 1 get 1 free sale and buy 2 different shades and try both, keep the one that looks the best and return the other. Walgreens has sales like this all the time, just keep your receipt.
Tips for Choosing %26amp; Applying Foundation
http://geethabeautytips.blogspot.com/200鈥?/a>
Pick a shade closest to your skin tone and test it on your jawline. That is the best place to check which colors will work well. There is a new foundation out called Personal Match Ideal Shade Makeup and it is made by Avon. The shades are light, medium, or medium deep. Basically it is mistake-proof and smoothes on and transforms into your ideal shade. There are encapsulated pigments that burst upon application to release some color. Typically people apply this one with their hands and not the small sponge. Hope this helps....
use your jawline to test what color you are. You want the foundation closest to your neck line so you look like you have to makeup on at all. It's irritating when people have a different face color than their neck you know?! So ask for a tester and use your jaw line and you also want to dab over any blemishes to see if it covers well.
Try using the inside of your wrist as a starting point to match for color. Also, you shouldn't use foundation on your neck, stop at the jaw line. Another thing you might want to try is the cosmetic counter at a department store. They're trained in color matching and it's usually a free service (to entice you to buy their products.) They can tell you what color your undertones are and what colors to stay away from. Good luck!
