What color concealer would I be, if I was NC30 in Mac foundation?

Or would it be the same?

Thanks. What color concealer would I be, if I was NC30 in Mac foundation?
it depends on what you're trying to cover. If you have dark circles you want to use a warmer toned 1 shade lighter concealer so you'd need nw25 or nw20, depending on what your more comfortable with. However if you need to cover up redness, then you'd need a more green concealer, to cancel out the redness. I use the makeup for ever concealer palette in number 1, because it has 3 concealer shades, a green, and a salmon concealer for under eyes

How do I choose the right foundation for my skin color?

The foundation you choose should be one that matches your natural skin color. You want the foundation to almost disappear on your skin because it matches that exactly. Test the color along your jaw line just apply a little and blend it in. It should look as though it disappeared. How do I choose the right foundation for my skin color?
Department store:

Test it on your jaw line and don't rub it in, just let it dry on your jawline. Do this with 3 colors that are close to your face color and allow all of them to dry next to eachother then look in a mirror and see which looks most natural.

Drugstore:

Open the bottle and test it on the back of your hand, test 2-3 colors and rub it into the skin. Some colors will appear more pink, others orange, and there should be one that blends nicely with your hand. Pick that color. How do I choose the right foundation for my skin color?
if your buying from a department store then use the color chart and compare your skin. pick the one thats closest to your natural skin color and test it out. make sure you can return it if its wrong for your skin tone. if your buying from a salesperson than ask them for testers and rub some the back of your hand then put it up to your face. again make sure you can return what you buy if its not what you want. good luck
the foundation that you should is the one that suites your face and your natural skin right i know a site where you can find the perfect makeup that suites your face and skin it's called nextag.com they have the best makeup that you will love and like very much.
if you go to mac they'll find ur shade for you

Where can i find a foundation to match my skin color of yellowish, cinnamon ?

Go to the mall, to the different make up counters. They should do a foundation analyses for free ( In hopes you'll buy thier make-up) They can tell you what you exact skin tone is and if you have warm or cool undertones etc. It may be more expensive, but in the long run I think its well worth it. I like estee lauder myself. One bottle of liquid foundation last me 3 months. A little goes a long way. Hope this helps.Where can i find a foundation to match my skin color of yellowish, cinnamon ?
If you have Macy's or Dillard's in your town, try the Clinique or M.A.C. counter.Where can i find a foundation to match my skin color of yellowish, cinnamon ?
St Ives
Go to Ulta or Sephora ask to try the i.d. BareMinerals stuff. You can blend them if you want to get the best coverage. The best part is the fact that it looks so natural (people can't tell you're wearing anything), it has AMAZING coverage, AND it doesn't irritate skin, so if you have problem skin, it's perfect for you. Good luck!! Hope I could help.
DHC Cosmetics. It's a little expensive, but worth it.

What foundation in Revlon Color Stay is comparable to MAC NC 30?

  • I wear Bare Escentuals Medium Beige foundation. What color should I buy from Everyday Minerals?

I would say medium tan, but honestly it is hard to say...do you find bare minerals too orangey for your skin? Or is it literally a perfect match? I would order the sample kit if I were you because the colours look a little different once you get them depending on the formulation you choose (intensive is usually darker than original glow). It is located under custom kits and it is free- you can pick three different colours plus a concealer and a blush. I hope that this helps, good luck! (Oh and you can watch some videos on youtube where people say what colour they are to see if you would be close to their skin tone... here is one for the colour that I recomended: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD5uKCwnr鈥?/a> ).

Can never find the right color foundation for my skin tone.?

my foundation is always either too light or too dark, and it doesnt seem to last long. i have tried all different kinds of brands. my skin is really oily (most of the time). i have tried for so long to find the right one, now its just getting aggravating lol. also, how can i make my lipstick last longer on my lips? help me out ladies, us beautiful girls have to stick together..... (pics on my 360)Can never find the right color foundation for my skin tone.?
TRY PUTTIN BOTH TOGETHR BUT PUT DARK FIRST AND THEN LIGHTCan never find the right color foundation for my skin tone.?
bodyshop has a wide range of foundations and they are really good aswell, try searchin 4 one dere. im sure you'll find one. i dont were lipstick i jst wear lip moisteriser so i cant help u wid dat.
use one that is a shade darker than u

n put vaseline on your lips after u apply ur lipstick
first, you need to find your undertone. look at the veins on the underside of your wrist in natural daylight. if they're green, you have a warm undertone, and you have a olive or golden complexion. if your veins are blue, you have a cool undertone, and your complexion is rosy, pinkish, or even a bit blue. then determine your skin tone as fair, light, light/medium, medium, medium/deep, or deep.

it's best to get your foundation from a department store since department store brands have better quality. they also have representatives to help you choose the right type for your skin and also the shade you need.
well foundation only really covers up ur flaws..it doesn't fix it...and in the long run ur skin is gonna be worse off....so i suggest you just wash ur face everyday and apply a little bit of cocoa butter on ur face...just a little bit so it wouldn't dry up.
your skintone is probably changing due to weather change (like from summer to winter..) buy 2 foundation shades (one darker and one lighter).. and mix them together to get the right shade! use a mattyfying gel first on the oily areas to prevent grease all going all over the face.. and use oil-blotting sheets throughout the day to pick up extra oil (clean%26amp;clear oil controlling film is cheap and good)... also, choose ';mattifying foundation'; or a foundation that's oil free...

for lipstick.. use a bit of concealer on the lips.. then line AND fill your lips with a lip liner... then use lipstick.. if lipstick wears off, at least u'll still have some color thanks to the lip liner used previously...
I am assuming you have dark skin (your picture is not that clear)

I would go to a make up counter (Mac, Clinic or even Fashion Fair which is made for dark skin) have one of the ladies who are trained for this help you find the right shade for you.

I have tried all three and my favorite and the one I am currently using is MAC if you call in advance and make an appointment they will give you a make over (you have to buy something not sure how much).

    Check out the links below

    Good luck!
Bare Minerals is great for oily skin and has great coverage. You can buy the 2 foundations and mix them together to get the right color. It's light and easy to apply and lasts all day. Or, try going to a cosmetic counter in your local mall. They will match your skin tone and suggest a foundation that will work for you.
Go to a good cosmetics counter. It is very difficult to find the right shade in a drug store. A product that looks like the right color for your skin in the bottle, may not be so good once you put it on your skin. You end up wasting so much money, buying cheap products that don't work. Just go ahead and have a professional choose a color to match your skin, and a type of foundation that is right for your oily skin. As for lipstick, that is a tough one. I am constantly re-applying it. They have lipsticks out there that are supposed to last longer, but I do not like how they feel on my lips. You might want to ask a cosmetologist about the lipstick, too. You might as well spend the money, and get it right!
Try Prescriptives can only be found in upscale department stores. They custom blend the powder for your skin tone and type. And they will tell you all about how to make your lip color last longer
try a deparment store makeup? try visiting a counter and have them match you up with something. make sure its oil free also. i've tried the drugstore brands and they didnt work to well on my skin.
I have the exact same problem.

What I have to do is get a cheapo brand BYS (from go-lo) and mix it with a covergirl ';clean'; foundation.

It works very well on not only my skin, but my friends too =]
Personally i think foundation looks horrible and if you have oily skin it's even worse!! First of all to sort out that oily skin, get some shine control tissues, they are avaliable at bodyshop and also the barbara daly range at tesco.

Then just dust on some face powder, it looks soooo much nicer as it blends better. Also exfoliate your skin every night to get rid of dead skin and makeup in the pores to avoid spots.

If i use a medium foundation what color loose powder should i use?a darker shade or lighter?

    um your face color?

Girls, how do you find out what color foundation you are?

Like at walmart or something. I use Mary Kay but the lady that's selling me the make up is taking forever to get it so I'm just going to get it from walmart. Thanks(:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>Girls, how do you find out what color foundation you are?
Try it out on your lower cheek in the store. Or ask a friend which one matches the most to your skintone.Girls, how do you find out what color foundation you are?
Foundation colors are best tested on the chin to find a close match. Many of the drug store/walmart brands you can't do that with since they're sealed. See if you can reach your consultant and find out what the hold up is or go here and try ordering online, ships to you direct and the colors shown are a good match. Good luck.

Use Almay Smart Shade. There are only three colors, and all three tone to whatever your color is. You just pick the one that is you. If you're light, pick light. Medium, medium.
Pick up bottles, look in a mirror and find the one that matches your skin tone. Foundation is designed to smooth out your skin and make it all one color, not to change your skin color. That's what bronzer is for. For foundation, it should be the same color as your natural skin.
Put the color on the back of your hand and if it disappears its your shade!

Does foundation make your skin lose its color?

I'm not a fan of foundation, but I'm curious to know if it's true that continuous use of foundation over just several years could make your skin lose its color. Or am I just hearing this from my mother who is super paranoid about these things hahaDoes foundation make your skin lose its color?
Unless it has a whitening product in it no, you're skin color is genetic so unless there's something to block the creation of melanin in your skin putting on make up won't change it.Does foundation make your skin lose its color?
the foundation itself wont do anything to your skin however because it stops sun getting to your face and tanning it, keeping its colour, etc, you'll lose an even complection.
I've heard that over time, your skin will absorb it. Some makeup lady said that if you Wash you makeup off before you go to sleep, nothing will happen.
Haha no, you'll be fine. Thats like the old ';if you drink too much sunny delight you'll turn orange'; myth.
    No, it won't.

I mean I wash mine off every night.

I am also an NC30 in MAC foundation, and if I were to try this Clinique foundation, I would probably go with soft beige. The colors in the pictures are very hard to tell what color we would be though. I would probably just go in and get color-matched. That would be the best way to get the best shade, and you won't have to worry about returning it or wasting money on the wrong color. Usually they let you, some of them can be rather bitchy about it, but overall it should be fine. They'll turn it into a trial bottle most likely.

I had the same sort of problem just the other day, only with a cream foundation in a compact covered with foil that you have to peel back to use it for the first time. I dabbed a little on my skin, and saw it was totally wrong. I brought it back immediately because I was still in the mall and they exchanged it for me. As long as you explain your situation, it should be fine, as they can sterilize things and use them as testers, which should not be a problem considering your product is in glass, and not exposed!
Explain your situation and most of the ladies will let you return it , If you bought online call their customer service but it shouldnt be an issue and they most likely they will let you swap it out !
Yes, they will let you exchange, and make sure you tell them she did not try it on your skin first! I thought they are required to do that

Loreal have a new foundation called True Match. Just test a small amount on the top of your hand and if it blends good there it will look great on your face.I have a hard time picking out makeup foundation. How to you find the ';right'; color for you?
Put it on the inside of your wrist.
Well I am a makeup artist and I get this question alot so her you go:

To even out your skin's appearance and create the illusion of flawless skin, head to the cosmetics counter. The right foundation can do wonders.

    Steps:

    1. Consider your skin type. If you have oily skin, stick with an oil-free formula. If you have drier skin, select a creamier formula that offers moisturizing benefits.

    2. Decide what type of look you'd like to achieve. Foundations can offer sheer to heavy coverage and finishes that range from satiny to matte.

    3. Test the colors of your preferred formula on your jawline, which offers the truest facial coloring. Any foundation will look slightly darker in the bottle, so keep this in mind when assessing your options.

    4. Blend in the foundation gently with a makeup sponge. The foundation should disappear into your skin. If you find you're between shades, blend two colors together, or keep looking for a brand that offers the perfect shade.

    5. Bring a hand mirror along so you can view your options in natural light.

    6. Look for yellow-toned foundation or tinted moisturizer if you're Caucasian or Asian; Hispanics should opt for foundation or tinted moisturizers with yellow-orange undertones. If you are African-American, it's a good idea to use light, medium and dark shades of foundation to allow for different gradations of color on different parts of your face.

    7. Remember that you have plenty of options to choose from, so if you don't find a good color match, keep looking.

    Tips:

For sheer, no-nonsense coverage, consider using a tinted moisturizer.

Look for the many extras some foundation formulas offer, such as sunscreen or ingredients that hide fine lines.

Most skin colors, african, caucasian, or asian, have some yellow undertones in them. The darker the skin, the darker the shade of yellow. So choose a foundation with yellow undertones in them so that it will blend in nicely and not look painted on when applied.

Hope that helps you. Let me know.
www.marykay.com , find a consultant in your area ,,, you won`t be sorry
Have a professional at the department store match it for you. I always had a horrible time trying to do it myself and now I have a perfect foundation from Estee lauder.
You can go to a make-up counter at a department store and they can mix shades together to make one that's perfect for you.
well when u go to the store take at least 3 samples...put them on your jawline, after a few min. check and look which one disappears into your skin, once u find it...THAT ONE IS THE ONE FOR U!
Well, first off, never test foundation on your hand unless that's where you plan on wearing it. Go to a department store (with a clean face) and have them test different shades on you. Don't just look in the mirror in the store (the lighting in dept. stores is terrible). Take a mirror and go outside or by a window so that you can see how it looks in natural light. This is the only way to truly match your tone. Sometimes two different shades have to be mixed but it's not a big deal. I do it for myself and my clients all of the time. Hope this helps!
Go to one of the makeup counters and ask someone. Alot of them will be very helpful and you can tell them that you don't want to spend the money unless your sure your getting your money's worth.
At the wal-mart near me, they have a Cover Girl staion where you put ur hand under a film of plastic that has different color samples...which ever color disappears the most is the right color for you!

i dont think i am very pretty but what color of foundation and eyeshadow should i use and how plz helpWhat color of foundation and eyecolor?
I like the trublend by cover girl make up.

Its very forgiving if you dont pick out exactly the right color (because lets face it, its plain impossible to tell what shade it is in the bottle) - and often you can find sampler packs with several shades of the stuff at Walmart (sigh, the evil empire) or CVS.

Brown is an eyeliner shade that works on most folks. The problem is that most people use a line that is too wide and it screams ';MAKE UP'; instead of just accentuating your lashline. Use a powder shadow and a very fine brush.

If you have them near you, the make up line they have at KOHLS is nice. And they have testers of all the colors (make sure that you walk out of the store and look at your face before you buy, because the lighting is horrible in the store) - plus its not TOooooo expensive.

Good LuckWhat color of foundation and eyecolor?
Almay has eye shadow that is made to match the color of your eyes. They have the perfect colors of shadow and liner. It also gives instructions on the back for the perfect application. I use the color for brown eyes and it looks great. If you dont feel comfortable using mascara, just curl your lashes and apply a clear coat, (like the conditioner some companies make). As for foundation, get a color that is very close to the color of your face. Sometimes, you cant find a perfect color and have to blend two together. That is what I do and it is a perfect shade. When applying foundation, the trick is to blend. Make sure you dont have a line on your chin. Blend, Blend, Blend.

Putting on makeup takes practice, so if it doesnt turn out right, dont give up.
Go to the department store like Macy's Dillard's, Filene's or what have you and schedule a free consultation with one of the cosmetics ladies. I suggest Clinique because it's not mad expensive like Lancome or Prescriptives or Dior and it's really good quality. They can help you select eyeshadow colors that make the most of your beautiful peepers and can help you find a good foundation with the right color and the right amount of coverage. They'll teach you a lot of other things besides, and it's fun to do.

If you are just starting out, try some of the light and easy lines of cosmetics, like Jane, Bonne Bell or Maybelline, which you can get at Target and don't cost much. Have fun with this!

I think it's L'Oreal that has a chart made of clear plastic with swatches of color to show their shades of makeup. You hold it up to your wrist and whichever square disappears is the shade that is closest to your own.

If you are very young (I am guessing that you are) you probably have great skin and do NOT need to wear heavy makeup, so use a light-wear water-based foundation to keep your complexion looking nice.

Use a sponge and not your fingers to apply foundation, because your fingers can carry bacteria back into the bottle and that can cause breakouts and other problems. Also, change your makeup every six months or so to avoid bacteria buildup.

For eyeshadow, use a light layer of light colors in the daytime to brighten your eyes, and use smokier, more dramatic tones of eyeshadow at night. I know the packages of eyeshadow have a little chart on the back that tell you how to use three or four colors at once on the different parts of your eyelid, but you can't believe everything you read. Try different things to see what works for you.

Rather than powder eyeshadow try cream-based or liquid eyeshadow. The powder can dry your eyelids out and make them crepey by the time you are 25. Clinique Touch Base is wonderful stuff and comes in really lovely shades.

Use something gentle to clean your face and wash your face every night to get the makeup off so you don't break out. Try PhisoDerm or a gentle face wash. Don't use anything too harsh or abrasive - it can cause skin problems later on.

Listen -- we are all beautiful, for real. Learn to find the beauty in yourself. Concentrate on those features you know you are proud of and play those things up. I have always been happy with my long neck, high forehead, and nice shoulders so I emphasize those things, even though some people might not think a long neck is a sign of beauty, to me it is! So what else really matters?

Have fun and celebrate your pretty self! Enjoy your makeup shopping ---
foundation should be the about same color as yur skin(put a blotch by the bottom of yur eye and if it blends in good its the rite color) eye shadow should be neutral unless yur like me and you wear black eyeliner and dark blue around my eyes
do a contrasting color eye shadow to make your eyes pop out. from day to day, do a lighter shade and at night, do it slightly darker for effect. pick a foundation that matches your skin tone. it's meant to enhance your skin tone, not change the color, plus it will look fake

Do you mean like a dewy look? I have the Revlon Colorstay foundation as well and to get a dewy look, I first spray my face with some MAC fix+ or other refresher spray. Apply the foundation with a brush and after you're done, spray with more fix+ to set it. Put on some powder such as the NYC smooth skin pressed foundation powder, Loreal Truematch, or the Revlon Colorstay powder. Take a highlighting powder such as the ELF bronzer in luminance and apply that above your cheekbones.

    hope i helped!
If you want your skin to look shiny, you should apply a highlighting powder to your face or use a shimmer liquid mixed with your foundation. Revlon skinlights in a good one. I like physicians formule, NYC, or other cheap brands for highlighting powders. With Revlon Colorstay foundation I recommed revlon colorstay powder. I use both and love it!

Revlon doesn't test on animals- how nice!
    Prof. Waters at your service!

Long story short, my Mother used this from when she was a young girl to now. Her face is still wrinkle free and clear after 22+ years.

Sorry to tell you this, but you are DOING IT WRONG! Stop immediately.

    1. Wash your face with soap and water.

    2. Apply your favorite lotion.

    3. Rinse using 50% of water.

    4. Apply Cinnamilk at 75 degrees heat. (Cinnamilk is Cinnamon powder with Milk).

    5. Rinse for 5-10 seconds.

    6. Powder your face, I don't recommend this because powder dries your skin out and causes pimples and oil to absorb into the skin at a 33% faster rate. (Skip this step if you do not apply powder.)

    7. Now apply your make up.

Thank me later, and I hope I see you at the club tonight. :).
i think u should google Dinair Airbrush Makeup..it comes out matte but they have this stuff u can add to it to give u the dewy look...ive been using their makeup for the past 2 years and i LOVE it...its the best makeup ive ever used...it covers everything and makes my skin look flawless...but its also natural looking cause its all water based...which also makes it not bad for ur skin cause it doesnt clog ur pores...anywho, i hope i gave a useful and helpful suggestion..=)
You should use Revlon SkinLights Face Illuminating powder if you want to appear more shiny. You can find it here:

    http://www.beautyencounter.com/309975858鈥?/a>
If you want your face to actually be shiny, then you shouldn't be applying powder.

Apply a shimmer to your cheekbones.
dont apply powder if u want ur face to look shiny dont apply powder! the clinique liquid foundations look quite shiny and dewy and give great coverage.
If you want your face to look ';dewy'; don't set with powder. SPritz Mac Fix + over makeup, that will set your makeup with a dewy look

How can you figure out the right foundation color ?

Hi, I am Suhaani, I will be buying a new foundation very soon..I have wheatish or brown skin color like Indian people..How can I figure out the right foundation color for my skin tone? How do you guys find your shade? Also, mention a good brand of foundation that makes skin look flawless and which hides acne and acne marks..thanks guyHow can you figure out the right foundation color ?
Go to the store and hold up a bottle of foundation to your hand. If it matches, go for it!! Also, since you have a ';wheatish or brown'; skin tone, look for something with a yellow undertone to it, not a pink undertone. I use Bare Minerals, which is really nice and doesn't make your skin break out. There is also, a Neutrogena kind that has a salicylic acid in it, which will actually treat your acne as you cover it up.How can you figure out the right foundation color ?
if you live by a boots i would reccomend No7 make up brand also you can either use a tester pot and see what it looks like in normal daylight closest to your skin or you could get a complete makeover with that percific product and get them to write what shade you are

so much easier either works though

    good luck xx
This is a great foundation! For you I'd recommend the shade ';Natural Tan'; :)

I have acne/oily skin and I use Bare Minerals. To find the right foundation color just go to the store and try one of the foundations on your inner wrist or throat.

What color to paint outside foundation on house?

my house is light yellow with hunter green shutters

should i paint the outside foundation yellow or hunter green? What color to paint outside foundation on house?
yellow definately xWhat color to paint outside foundation on house?
I would either leave it natural or paint it grey. If you paint it with one of your colors it will look mismatched because of the texture of the concrete. It will appear that you were trying to match your color and it was a shade off. If you do want one of the colors go with the hunter. The yellow will show dirt splatters from when it rains.
You'd be much better off with a concrete stain. Concrete ';breathes,'; so paint would peel rather quickly.

I think you'll be happier with the result if the foundation is stained the color of your siding (yellow). Green would stand out too much.
Whatever color you choose just be sure to use a paint that is designed to be used on concrete.
Either will be fine depending on the shade of yellow.. I ve seen a lot of a neutral gray that look good.A grey that won t distract from your other 2 colors GL

  • Anybody know the exact CMYK percentages for the color pink used for the Breast Cancer Foundation???

My company is adding the ribbon to our hockey jerseys, and we need ot know the exact colors.

A general search on the internet provided nothing, so I hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance!Anybody know the exact CMYK percentages for the color pink used for the Breast Cancer Foundation???
Your best bet is to contract a screen printer or the printer company who will be printing the pink ribbons on the jerseys. There are so man variations of pink and they can help you better. Having them print a sample is also very helpful.

I don't know if you are creating the ribbon yourself using a graphics program. You can try (0%, 25%, 20%, 0%)

Actually, contacting the breat cancer foundation directly would be the best place to get the accurate answer. They should have a contact form somewhere on their website.

Hi i bought hd foundation in sephora and im not very sure about the color so i wanna go exchange?

but if not satisfy can i exchange it again ? how many times can i ?Hi i bought hd foundation in sephora and im not very sure about the color so i wanna go exchange?
they have a great return policy. that is why sephora is go-to place to buy makeup. you can return products even if you used it however many times you want as long as you still have the receipt. i say ask a sephora worker to help pick out a color foundation. wear that color for a couple of minutes to allow the foundation to react to your skin. each foundation reacts to different skin differently.Hi i bought hd foundation in sephora and im not very sure about the color so i wanna go exchange?
You can try just to make sure.. the worst they can say is no. But next time you buy something there and your not sure what color to get, ask one of the workers, that's what they are there for.

Picking the right color foundation..any tips?

i always have a hard time picking the right shade because you cant really test them in stores. is there any tips or tricks to pick the right foundation shade?? also do you recommend any specific brand??Picking the right color foundation..any tips?
Well, if it's a decent drug store, they will let you return or exchange foundations if they're not the right shade. Just ask for their exchange policy, just so you know what it is.

You could also try going to any makeup counter in a department store, or Sephora. The higher end foundations tend to use more testers, have foundations that come in more shades, and have makeup artists that can definitely help you with matching you up with a colour.

I really recommend Make Up for Ever. Their Face and Body foundation is really great and comes in lots and lots and lots of shades.

Oh, and also know what you're looking for. Know your skin's undertone and what your shade is. Lookup foundations (www.makeupalley.com is great for reviews), and look at swatches people have done on the internet. They can be really helpful when trying to figure out what your shade is.Picking the right color foundation..any tips?
If you want a drugstore brand they are making it a lot easier to find a shade. Cover Girl has that foundation that has the plastic with all the shades and you put your hand underneath and from what I hear that works pretty well. But if you are willing to splurge a little go to Sephora where you can try various brands. The best foundation I have ever used is Make Up For Ever. I use their Mat Velvet + along with the Duo Mat powder but you can use either or. Also their HD foundation is really good I am probably going to switch to that one. But whatever formula they use its just so much better than any other I have ever tried. You can also go to MAC their makeup isn't that expensive and you can try the colors there as well. I am willing to splurge a little on the foundation just because that to me is the most important part of what you put on your face in regards to actual makeup. And with Make Up For Ever a little does go a long way. And to get really good application I recommend getting the MAC 187 or 188 brush the foundation seriously is flawless with that brush. I love Sephora because you can try everything before you purchase it and if you don't like it when you get home then that's your own fault. So definitely try Sephora and try various brands. I even tried Sephora brand and that is ok but I can't even recommend anything else other than Make Up For Ever because it truly is the best. Even peole who work for MAC have said how much they love Make Up For Ever foundation. The Mat Velvet + and the Duo Mat are both around $35 each and the HD is $40.
first its important to know if you have a warm or cool undertone then you can pick a good warm or cool foundation to match. its best to test it out on your jawline not your hand or something. you should consider going to a department store and getting a makeup artist to put your makeup on before you buy it i did this because i was tired of buying crappy drugstore makeup that didn't match
    Use a tester foundation.

Try in on your chest, as this is the nearest skin tone to your face.

If you have oily skin don't use a liquid foundation.

It will also depend how much coverage you want for example if it just to cover freckles get one closest to your skin shade.

But to cover something more get a bit darker foundation
try Clinique in most major department stores, you wont break the bank and the sales person will make sure you get the best type, (liquid, cream, powder) for your skin and the correct color.
you are just going to the wrong stores!

ulta, sephora, macy's (clinique, estee lauder, bobbi brown), mac all have TESTERs that you can try the make up before you buy the wrong color

also, go out in the DIRECT sunlight before you buy it.... sometimes the artificial light in places like drug stores will cause you to match the wrong shade!

i would never suggest anything like covergirl or maybelinne... my absolute favorite is make up forevery HD foundation

Why did Lance Armstrong choose the color yellow to represent the Livestrong foundation?

lea, you're almost right. the yellow jersey in the TdF is awarded to the overall race leader, not necessarily the day's stage winner. but that is the reason Lance chose yellow, from his TdF wins. on Discovery, previously US Postal, LA was dubbed ';Mellow Johnny';. this was Lance's cheeky name for the yellow jersey, a mispronunciation of Maillot Jaune as it is known by the French. after winning his battle with cancer, LA became obsessive about the TdF. most of his yellow jerseys have been donated to charity auctions, benefiting cancer organizations..Why did Lance Armstrong choose the color yellow to represent the Livestrong foundation?
because of the tour de france races he was in. yellow is the color of the jersey given the rider when he wins a stage of the raceWhy did Lance Armstrong choose the color yellow to represent the Livestrong foundation?
because he belongs to the discovery channel racing team.... Theyre jersey is yellow... and because yellow is associated with cancer!

but if you have perfect skin and just want to brighten it up, i guess you can buy it.
i tried it before and it's not worth the price. It doesn't stay long enough and doesn't give enough coverage. You should try maybelline cream foundation instead or revlon products.

What foundation color would I use?

I am really fair and i have pink undertones....which would mean I would wear cool right? I naturally dark brown hair [[now its like brown..not as dark]] and hazel eyes. I know cool undertones get complimented on like pinks and pastel colors and warm get complimented on like browns and dark greens....and i get complimented when I wear browns and dark greens which would mean im warm.....so i am totally confused! please help. :]What foundation color would I use?
Go to the bareminerals or Bare Escentuals make up counter - they will tell you which shade looks best on you. Because no one really knows exactly what your skin tone or color is, we cant really tell you which shade you are supposed to get for any type of makeup. bareMinerals/Bare Escentuals is great and would make your fair skin color look great. What foundation color would I use?
2 to 1 shade(s) lighter than your real color of skin

and please dont ever go get a darker foundation that is darker than your real color of skin color because people who get a lot darker foundation than they need think that it will make them look tanner all it does is make them look really ridiculos
Well personally I don't like wearing foundation, who cares what is under your skin, but if you prefer it then I will answer your question. Since I don't wear it I don't really know, but I do know a rule, you should always match your skin colour so it doesn't look fake, if you choose a shade darker and you missed a spot it will show, and what ever you do, do not get orange, it looks really bad. Good luck, hoped I helped.

Should the color only be in foundation?

When you apply foundation should the color be in the foundation? Like if you get a natural tan foundation should you get the natural tan powder to match? Or go with a natural tan foundation and a translucent powder? It seems like having color in both the foundation and powder would add too much color to my face.Should the color only be in foundation?
get a foundation and powder to match your skin... add color with a bronzer! let your inner beauty shine! have a wonderful day!Should the color only be in foundation?
Foundation should match the tone of your skin color, then you apply blush, and if you are going somewhere really special you apply bronzer, go on youtube, they will show you make tips...good luck!!

MAC is a good powder foundation...they also have this powder that is meant just to cover up the shine....without leaving too much color on your face...=)

What color does block foundation need to be with beige siding and black shutters, gray porch with colors flake

With black shutters, since they are an accent, I would use black colored blocks (especially it you have a black shingled roof). . . Or you might want consider a gun metal grey, which is almost black, which would tie into your porch, and grey shingles if you have them :) (could always repaint the shutters in the future if you don't like the effect). . .

    Good luck!!!

What is the best foundation you have used for pale skin that is not orangey or pinkish in color?

I usually have tanned skin, but I have stopped going to the tanning bed for a few months and my natural skin tone has come through. I have plae skin that can look like it has gray undertones. Also, it can have red undertones as well. I am looking for a foundation for paler skin that does not have a rosy/pink/orange/red tint to it. Almay Smart Shade Makeup

there are like...three different ';shades,'; but just choose the lightest one, even if you think that it would be too dark. the foundation starts out being white but the chemicals in it (not harsh ones that will harm you) blend to the color of your skin

its only 9 dollars at wal-mart

it has SPF in it too
Yup! The Fairest Beige shade of LA Minerals foundations. Made especially for porcelain skin types with no pink/orange/peach undertones.

I use the Fair Beige and sometime a little medium mixed in in the summer.

Bare Minerals by bare Essentials! I got it for Christmas and I will never use another foundation again. If you buy the package it also comes with a bronzer type color that you can add if you get a little bit of a tan. If you have sensitive skin it works wonders!
physicans formula is great there's all different kinds of foundation to chose from depending on the effect you want and you dont break out from it and it looks natural. you can find it at target.
The best foundation I have found is BEE LUSCIOUS COSMETICS its totally AMAZING!!! like nothing you have ever tried before.
There is L'oreal Truth Match, which I used to use before tanning and still do now just in a darker shade. It's also pretty inexpensive. There is also ANY M.A.C foundation. Both of them have great skin matching pigment without too much orange or pink which makes it virtually undetectable!
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!
I would recommend the Bare Essentuals ';Light'; package. It doesn't have an orange or pink undertone, like most makeup. It has more of a yellow undertone.
I have used the mousse foundation and it is great, no streaks or orange tint to it. I am also pale.

    This applies for all foundations.

To really find a good match make sure this is done in direct sunlight or really good lighting. Also take a mirror with you because sometimes the mirrors can be really scratched up and doesn't let you see anything.

Find a foundation that you think is your color, then get another shade lighter and another shade darker of the same foundation. Apply one stripe of each shade of foundation on your jawline and see which blends into your natural skin tone the best. Also make sure the color is the same shade as your neck because you will blending into it.

Why is it that women of color wear foundation when they don't need it?

I understand why girls with pale skin would want to wear makeup but why do women of color wear makeup? I am a latina who is 19 years old who never wears makeup because I already have color and don't need it. I get hit on alot by guys. I am beautiful without makeup because of my my ethnic background. It bothers me to see some women of color wearing foundation because it is only going to mess up their natural beauty. Anyone else agree???Why is it that women of color wear foundation when they don't need it?
Lucky girl to be so beautiful Not everyone is so blessed. Many women of color, just as women who are of pale complexion, need to even out their skin tones and make-up helps them to do so. Foundation use is a very personal thing and you shouldn't worry about others and realize how lucky you are to not need any.

By the way, not all pale women wear foundation. My daughter who has very pale porcelain skin does not and always is told how delicate and beautiful she is. Some people are just blessed with great skin. Why is it that women of color wear foundation when they don't need it?
    I AGREE!!!!!!!!!
Why would make-up mess up their natural beauty?

Colors such as blue, purple, etc. look beautiful on olive and darker skin tones. Pale skin girls don't wear make-up to be 'darker'. You go to taning salons to do that.
some women probably wear it because they want to cover fine lines and wrinkles. I have a fairly young friend who is still in her 20's who already has crow's feet.

Personally, I agree with you....why wear it?....however, I'm lucky like you and realize some women are not.
Mama, when you turn 30(ish) you will need it. That is why woman of color wear it.

Foundation isn't used to ';give color'; to your skin, it's used to cover imperfections... freckles, age spots, etc. Things you wouldn't know about just yet....
It is to look like celebrities with flawless skin. The irony is that most of them without makeup look nothing like their camera ready face. Have you seen before and after pictures of Oprah? Rent The Color Purple or Beloved, and then, watch her show. Anyway, it also evens skin tone and helps with self confidence. They want to look their best. Some women (like you) are naturally beautiful. Others would like to have that, and cosmetics is the way that they can achieve that. If you are happy with yourself the way you are, that is great. However, there is nothing wrong with wearing cosmetics, if it makes you feel better about yourself and gives you self confidence.
Everyone wants to look flawless no scars or discoloration. Not everyone has natural beauty. Women of color or not.
i agree with you! im colored and i don't wear foundation. I just wear eyeliner and gloss.
sometimes people have discoloration of the skin, which they try to hide using foundation. that goes for people of any color.
The only thing I can agree on, is that you are really young to understand why ';women'; of all colors wears make up. I use to be like you, but didn't worry about others, and when you want to look professional and well nice prepare (not like if you got up from bed), you will fix yourself to enhance your appearance. As much as you can, take care of your face and believe me, make up do not damage your skin... You are welcome to see my face after 25 years, 20 of which I've been using make up, still soft and young .
Well some African American woman usually wear foundation because of the discolouration (blotches) in their skin tones.

Instead of having 2-3 different skintones on their face, they'll use foundation or a coloured concealer, to have one even skintone.
    me.
U obviously don't know what foundation is for. It is for coverage(as in covering zits) and evening out skin tone. Lots of ppl are redder/darker/lighter in some areas of their face compared to other areas. A black person may have spots on their cheeks that they want to cover up, a Hispanic girl may have zits, a white person redness. Every1 with skin problems, regardless of ';color';, can use foundation. I do not, mainly because I am not good at applying it, but I would like to use it.

No1 uses foundation to add color. Yes, sometimes foundation can darken your face if u chose a slightly darker color than your skin. But it is not done purposely. If u are beautifil and hit on by guys, i do not think it is because of your skin tone. If u r saying white ppl r ugly, i disagree. I am confused by your statements, but it sounds like u r saying that u and ';colored';(i do not understand y u chose to use that term) are beautiful because they are dark and white ppl need foundation to be dark and pretty. You are mistaken.

No1 else will agree because u obviously didn't know what foundation was used for and made a false assumption, but it is okay because this is Yahoo answers and we are here to help.
As opposed to the women of b%26amp;w?
    vanity
Yes, color is only one reason a woman would wear foundation. But nowadays we know that everyone needs protection from the sun, this goes for young and old alike. You might have perfect skin now but if you don't wear sunscreen it will be blotchy when you are older.

Another reason to wear foundation, and I always recommend a 'tinted' foundation to my customers at http://www.youravon.com/gberes is that there are some foundations out now that actually have blemish preventing salycylic acid! This not only protect the skin but keeps it clear and fresh also. And who doesn't want clear and fresh skin?

Finally, foundation is a great way to neutralize certain undertones in your skin, for instance, my skin is excessively pink and in order to make it look more natural, I mix my normal foundation color with a foundation that has a bit more warmth to it. This works out perfect for me. Another person might want to add a little bronziness to their complexion for added glow!

    Nothing wrong with glow!

    Hope this helps,

    Ginny
people have insecrites and dont have a high self esteem
No, a lot of colored women have bad complexions, just as any other women would. Some have that pock-mark kinda thing going on and really need to mask it.
i don't know many girls, or really any, that wear foundation to ADD color. They wear it to even their skin tone or to cover up imperfections like zits and such. You really want a foundation that is your exact color so its not noticable that youre wearing it.

I do agree that people who don't need foundation, shouldn't wear it whether they have color or are ';pale';. I think skin looks best with out makup piled over it.
Many women of color wear make up to enhance not cover. Then there are some who wear it to even their skin tones. Makeup is not so bad ifyou wear it sparingly, but I do hate to see women with it caked on t doesn't add any beauty to them
Some women wear makeup to protect their skin.
No one's beautiful because of their ethnic background. There plenty of ugly (and pretty) in all ethnicities. Oh, and white girls don't wear make up to give their skin color. They use it for coverage of ';flaws'; like uneven skin tone and acne or because they think they have them.
I don't necessarily agree, but I do think that you are fortunate to have flawless skin. Everyone isn't that lucky, though. Lots of women have uneven color or spots that they need to minimize with makeup. So use foundation to try to even out the skin tone or cover the spots in order to look like they have skin like yours!
Most women don't use makeup to add colour, it's more to even out their skin tones. Some people have red cheeks, or dark circles under their eyes. Some people have a blemish they don't want immediately visible. I have this red line across my nose. Not very noticeable, but if I'm going somewhere and I want to look my best, I'll blend in some foundation, and it disappears!

You're lucky so far that you haven't had to wear make up. Once you have a kid that may change, as it did for me!
i think its to create a flawless appreance, rather than change the actual colour of the skin
sounds like you think your perfect

maybe you should stop worring about other people
Foundation is not a cover up, it's a way of evening out the colors. All people have these color problems which is why everyone who goes on a TV show will have a foundation out on. It evens the color and reflects the light uniformly.

If I wear a Ivory 100 foundation from Mary Kay... what color should I choose from other brands?

I have really fair skin but I can't afford to keep buying the Mary Kay foundation. If I wear a Ivory 100 foundation from Mary Kay... what color should I choose from other brands?
If you really like the foundation, instead of switching to another brand, have a MK show. Most of the time the consultant will give you a discount or give you so much in free product depending on your sales. And if you think about it, it really is not that expensive if you use it every day. I know that the initial charge is a little much but it is worth it!If I wear a Ivory 100 foundation from Mary Kay... what color should I choose from other brands?
Try cover girl it works for me really well and its not that pricey
Have you thought about inviting several of your friends over so you can host a class for your consultant? If not, why not? Go through the book and list several things for your wish list and give it to your consultant. She can give it to you free just for holding the class, and as for hostess credit (what you get for free after the class sales) you could get everything on your wish list for FREE!

If you love the foundation, why switch? It's not because of money now. I just gave you a reason to get it for FREE! If you were my customer, hold a class and I'd honor you in return.

Wear can i find a nude(foundation color) lipgloss thats not pricey?

i need a foundation color lip gloss but i really cant go over 10 dollars max 15. help please.and i really dont want the ones that u apply them and 10 mins later its all off.Wear can i find a nude(foundation color) lipgloss thats not pricey?
i think if you really want to get something that will last you, you might have to pay a bit more. i have two different foundation coloured lip glosses, one by DuWop and one by Smashbox. i have found both to last very long, i usually only have to put more on after i eat. the smashbox gloss i think is my favourite because it doesnt have as much sparkle in it. both glosses cost about $25 each, but have lasted me very long and are both great quality. if this doesnt help i would recomend going to your local drugstore or anywhere you buy makeup and just ask them about it.Wear can i find a nude(foundation color) lipgloss thats not pricey?
