im new to makeup and im not really sure how to pick out the right color of foundation. any tips?

You should never test foundation on your hand!


because the skin colour is nothing like the colour of your face.


always test it on your cheekbone/jawline.


if the foundation disappears into your skin, then its the correct colour. if you pick a colour a couple of skin tones darker then your skin colour, you will never look natural.How can i pick out the right foundation color for me?
Testing foundation on your hand is wrong because the skintone of your hand and face is different.


The best thing is applying different shades of foundation on your jawline and blending it in THEN going into NATURAL sunlight outdoors. Then from then on you can see which was suits your skintone the most.
actually apply the foundation on your jawline and test it from there and make sure you have a primer to make sure the makeup looks flawless and better and have powder so you can make a final touch to your makeup
test it along you jawline to blend it in.


they say in shops not to test it on your face cos its unhygienic but your hand and face are not the same colour so just test a small amount and dont let them see you. (:
when you go and buy a foundation try a tester on the top of your hand and see if it blends in if it does thats the right colour for you,
